Why Are Personal Data Processed?
Laposta processes your personal data for the following reasons:
- To send out our (occasional) newsletter;
- To be able to call or email you when needed for our services;
- To offer you the option to create an account and use our software.
Which Data Do We Collect?
When you sign up for our newsletter:
- Email address
- First and/or last names
- Details regarding opening newsletters and clicking on links
When you call or email our helpdesk:
- Email address
- First and/or last names
When you create an account:
- Email address
- First and/or last names
- Address (when you take a subscription or buy mail credits)
Via cookies on our websites:
- We use functional and analytical cookies for our websites, and no tracking cookies. Read more in the ‘cookies’ paragraph below.
We do not collect special and/or sensitive categories of personal data.
Retention Period
Laposta does not store your personal data any longer than needed to achieve the goals for which we were collecting them.
- For our newsletter, your data are stored as long as our newsletter is sent;
- If you were one of our customers, we store your personal data no longer than 7 years.
Sharing Personal Data with Third Parties
Laposta will not give or sell your personal data to third parties without your knowledge, unless we are legally obliged to do so. This can be on the basis of a lawful claim from competent authorities, for example.
Security
Laposta takes the protection of your personal data very seriously. So much that we have been awarded an ISO-27001 certification in that regard. We take extensive measures to avoid theft, loss, or otherwise unauthorised use of your personal data.
View, adjust, or delete data
You have the right to view, adjust, or delete your personal data. Additionally, you have the right to withdraw your consent for data processing or to object to the processing of your personal data by Laposta. You also have the right to data portability. You can send a request for access, correction, deletion, or transfer of your personal data, to withdraw your consent, or object to processing of your personal data to helpdesk@laposta.nl.
To ensure that you made the request for access, we will ask you to send a copy of your ID with the request. In this copy you black out your passport picture, the MRZ (machine readable zone) strip at the bottom of the passport, the passport number, and your social security number to protect your privacy. We will respond as soon as we can, but within four weeks, to your request.
Data Processing Complaints
Should you have a complaint about the processing of your personal data, you can let our Data Protection Officer know via fg@Laposta.nl. Laposta would also like to point out that you have the option to file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority. You can do that via this link.
You Received a Newsletter Sent with Laposta
Laposta processes personal data for her customers. These customers are the data controllers. If you have questions about the processing of your data by one of our customers, you can contact them directly.
Cookies
A cookie is a small text file that is sent when you visit the pages of our website. It is stored on your computer by your browser. The information collected is sent back to our servers on your next visit.
We use functional and analytical cookies for our website, but no tracking cookies.
Functional cookies are necessary for the functioning of the website. We use a cookie, for example, to see if someone is logged in or not, or to store their set preferences.
Analytical cookies are there to record the browsing behaviour of visitors to our website. We use Google Analytics for this. We have set up this programme in such a way that no personal data are recorded (IP-addresses are anonymised).
No Tracking Cookies
We do not use advertising networks, we do not build visitors’ profiles, and we do not use Facebook pixels.
Request Permission
As we do not use tracking cookies, and because we do not collect personal information with the analytical cookies, it is not mandatory for us to request permission. It is mandatory to inform the visitor about the use of cookies, which we do here.
